STOCKHOLM — Computer Science faculty members from Serres, Greece, attended church services at the St. George Cathedral of Stockholm during their visit to Stockholm while participating in the European program KA102, which was organized within the framework of the Erasmus+ program for professional training and development entitled “The Development of Robotics in Conjunction with Artificial Intelligence” on Sunday, July 17, 2022.


His Eminence Metropolitan Cleopas of Sweden and All Scandinavia officiated the Divine Liturgy in Chorostasia and prior to the end of the service, he celebrated the Sacrament of Chrismation for two young native Swedes joining the Orthodox Christian faith. After delivering a sermon to mark the occasion, he welcomed the faculty members visiting from Greece.
Afterwards, at the Museum of Hellenic Christian Heritage, Metropolitan Cleopas personally welcomed the visiting professors; namely Savas Alexandridis, Georgios Albanis, Athanasia Vavaleka, Stefanos Karypidis, Apostolos Klonis, Vaios Kofitsas, Maria Malasidou, Stergiani Mantatzi, Efrosini Petridou, Christos Triantafillou, Philippos Hatzianastasiou, and Konstantinos Christodoulou.
The Metropolitan briefed his guests on the missionary work taking place in Scandinavia, the complete restoration of the St. George Cathedral of Stockholm and its adornment with iconography, as well as his vision for the local Church, the evangelization of the local populace, and the spread of the Orthodox Christian faith.
A constructive dialogue ensued, while the visiting faculty members received copies of publications released by the Holy Metropolis of Sweden, including the recent album chronicling the Patriarchal visit of 2019 commemorating the Holy Metropolis’ semi-centennial.
